As an integrative counsellor, I accept that as individuals we are all unique and have different needs when seeking therapy and support. My focus is to provide a safe and non judgemental space to explore your feelings, emotions, relationships, ways of thinking and patterns of behaviour.
As an integrative counsellor and as a gay man, I have experienced and witnessed the difficulties and hardships of LGBTQ+ people, and that as individuals we are all unique and have different needs when seeking therapy and support. I am experienced in working with complex trauma in relation to our experiences of growing up, out of control behaviours, shame and guilt, substance misuse, addictions, interpersonal relationships and chem-sex issues where it can have a harming affect.
I am a member of Pink Therapy and for 5 years I volunteered at The Terrence Higgins Trust (THT), helping people living with, or affected by, HIV and HCV. During this time I volunteered on the help-line and co-facilitated gay men's newly diagnosed groups. Additionally, I was a trainer for new volunteers. During my training my placement was with East London Out Project (ELOP) offering counselling to clients who identified as LGBTQ+. I now work in private practice with therapy rooms in both Bloomsbury/Holborn and Hertford, Hertfordshire.
Making the decision to approach counselling or psychotherapy can be a positive step. It can help to gain a greater understanding to find the resources to make changes. It can also lead to self-discovery and self-awareness to live a more fulfilling life and to have more meaningful interpersonal relationships. You may be deciding to seek therapy because you are feeling low or in distress, or you are confused with painful feelings that you do not understand, but you may also be coming from a place of curiosity. Whatever your reasons are, I am here to guide you through this process.
