Bodhi Nicholas Hunt
CBT and EMDR (trauma) Psychotherapist
I offer an individual approach working with trauma and feel passionate that people have the potential to live a full, valuable and meaningful life with the capacity to heal from past difficulty and self-regulate their emotional world in-line with their values and context of life.
I graduated as a mature student within Herbal Medicine (BSc) and practised for many years in this sector, working with clients I became more interested and engaged in the psychological process underneath their physical needs. So, therefore, I went on to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in both Mental Health Studies and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, with further extensive training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), Compassion Focused Therapy, MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy) and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Over the last 12 years, I have gained working experience within both the NHS primary and secondary care services, private and third party sectors. I was supporting clients with a wide range of psychological difficulties from simple to complex and developmental trauma, depression, and anxiety disorders (including Panic Disorder, Generalised Anxiety, Health Anxiety and OCD).
My private practice has mainly focused on trauma with a special interest in Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE). Within the NHS I supervised trainee CBT therapists, and currently supervises support workers within the drug and alcohol services, and Mindfulness teachers internationally. I attend regular CBT, EMDR and Mindfulness supervision inline with recommended professional guidelines.
